I'm still discovering forgotten files in my old computer. I haven't looked closely yet, but this looks interesting.

The file has a weird name (EXECUTIVE SUMMARY) and I did not alter it.

It is uploaded to my website which I have maintained for over 10 years.

ENJOY ...

For me, it would depend on my goal. Sometimes I'm just out for a quick grab and...I don't even want there to be a trail.

Other times, I want to be brought to a really cool place that is a number of miles from anything, including the trail.

And no one was in it for the social aspect. I'm guessing there aren't many that cache with events their goal, but many have come around to the social part of caching.

That caught my eye too. (Not that I was caching, but fom my memory of caching in 2005...) That was in the day where caches and cachers were so few and far between, the parks were to be explored for caches and skirt lifters and sign posts were very rare. I think with the advent of more cachers and cache saturation, the game has become more about the people.

I also believe the further a person gets from the population centers and the number of caches and cachers get more dispersed, you again will find the social aspect of the game diminishes, just as it did in this survey.
