I am also very interested in getting smilies for these virtuals. Tried to accomplish last Memorial Day weekend, but water was very high & it was a very tough paddle, so we gave up. (Also figured out even though I really already knew it that trying to do this with inflatable kayaks was NOT a good idea - we did have a lot of fun running back thru the rapids!)

Laura (no name) and I are are still interested based on the weekend. We will meet you at the virtual events. Planning on camping inside of the BWCA between the two virtuals.

August/Sept might work well for me. I'd really like to go if my knee and hip replacement recoveries have gone well. I intend to get back to 100% asap so I can do just this type of stuff again.

You don't need hips and knees to paddle a canoe.

I'll see what Mike has to say. I'd love to go again but I suspect we'll never be as lucky as we were in 2010 where we completed BOTH virtuals in a single day and were back for dinner by 6pm.

Very interesting adventure & pics. I recognize some of the areas from trying to get Kelly-Jack last year. Didn't make it very far beyond the portage. Hope it's doable this year!

I posted this on FB..

Quote:
There's talk of a BWCAW Adventure (to the virtuals) late this summer or very early fall. Since I've already been there, I don't want to put much effort into choosing the timing. But if there's a consensus by interested parties for a weekend that works for me, I'd be happy to come along and plan the logistics, offer my experience, host an event, and offer seats in my boat(s). I think Doublemoose is in the same position as me.. For this to work for me, I'd need the weekend chosen ASAP as I am booked through August and September is beginning to fill.

Thoughts? Can we get a list of possible adventurers and possible weekends?

I asked my nongeocaching hubby if I could go on this trip and he said he would be interested in coming too. I showed him bflentje's pictures and he still wants to come. I've always wanted to get into the Boundary Waters. September would be a good time for us.

I would be a GO for a trip spanning the weekend of September 21st and 22nd. But since I've already been there, I'd want to share in the planning and logistics. I've already got four other adventures in the works this summer and want to "just tag along" on one. Wink

We need convince Doublemoose to run with his idea Very Happy
