How about some island caches on Twin Lakes in Crystal.

Since I don't know this lake at all, I'd appreciate info from those who do on where to park, thoughts on the safety of the ice, and where to eat - preferably nearby to the south and/or west.

No one gave advice on eats, so let's try:

Major ave N./ 58th ave N. Enter from there, if you don't find a better spot.

I don't usually like to post WNC for such old caches, because I know many people already have them. Selfishly I wanted company. Wink

I'll gladly withdraw if someone comes up with another WNC idea.

I came in from http://coord.info/GC1HCKR with Topgear on 3-17-2009. As I recall, it was one of the last days of walkable ice and we had to jump over open water to get on the ice that year. This year, you should be fine.

I am in but I might be a few minutes late. It is a long drive from south of the river. Are we meeting at Major and 58th or the link to the Minnesota Brad cache?

We're parking along Major which is also good parking for the Minnesota Brad cache.

Wow, a great evening out and a beautiful night including the stars, on the lake. Thanks everyone for coming out; it was a nice group. Thanks for letting me call an audible and change the restaurant to Sunshine Factory. We will have to go there again sometime. The happy hour food and drink was great.
