I have a premium membership with Groundspeak, and I also have a Garmin Etrex Venture HC. I am able to create the pocket query which is delivered to my e-mail, but I cannot figure out how to import it to my unit. Is my unit just too old to recognize pocket queries? Any suggestions would be helpful. It would be a real time saver if I could figure out how to do it.

Did you receive a program called MapSource with your Garmin? My etrek came with that. Unzip the PQ and then open the .gpx files in that program. You can send directly to your GPS from there.

Other option: Use GSAK.

I have also saved the gpx file to my desktop and opened it up with EasyGPS -- this program is a free download and really easy to use. I use this one to quickly load PQs, but use GSAK for stats and seeing if I qualify for challenges. I started out with the e-Trex and EasyGPS worked fine with it.

Well, I took team_geomonkeys adviced, and it worked!!!!! I am over the top thrilled. I now have all the caches I have not found loaded into my unit within a 25 mile radius. You rock, team_geomonkeys!

I took team_geomonkeys advice of the EasyGPS program as well. Thank you!!

Going to do some of the State Park Avian Adventures and I probably won't get cell phone signal at the parks. So I had to dust off the 'ol Garmin GPSmap 76Cx. I've been out of the game for a few years. My son and I got 56 of the Wild Safari cards back in 2009. BTW, how AWESOME is caching by smart phone?!! And you can log finds in real time?! SO COOL! Man did I miss caching! Glad to be back!
