This is from a year ago but we didn't have an MNGCA account at the time and we thought people might find this interesting. Last year for MEA we took a road trip with the intent to get to 6 new states. On the trip we had two odd travel bug related experiences on back to back days.
The first was we were doing a cache in someone's yard in Missouri right off the interstate. There is a lawncare guy at the house but he right away asks us if we are geocaching. We say yes and we each go about our business. As we are leaving, he comes back over and hands us a travel bug he had in is truck to move along. It had only been AWOL for a few months, although it had a long missing stretch in its log (12/24/05 to 8/8/10).
The second was the next day, we were doing a cache in Nebraska. There was a travel bug in the cache not listed in the inventory. So we look it up and its last log is nearly 70 months old (1/2/06 to 10/22/11). The weird part is the travel bug is in a new plastic bag with a freshly printed info sheet. Needless to say, we got an email from the TB owner about 10 minutes after we logged it. I think he was shocked his bug had resurfaced. |

| Stories like that remind me there is still hope (although small) for all of those MIA bugs I have out there. |
