|
|
So I have an opportunity to take a day and drive up to Moorhead so I decided to stop and get several of the state park caches on the way.
Anyone know if these are reasonable to get in one day?
GC3JXT2 - Lake Maria State Park Avian Adventure
GC3JXFV - Charles A. Lindbergh State Park Avian Adventure
GC3JXQY - Lake Carlos State Park Avian Adventure
GC3JXKC - Glendalough State Park Avian Adventure
GC3JXTN - Maplewood State Park Avian Adventure
GC3JXF1 - Buffalo River State Park Avian Adventure |

I can't speak for Charles Lindbergh or Buffalo River, but you should have no problem with the other 4. The only question is how much time you have.
Lake Maria - Can drive to all stages, short walk at final.
Lake Carlos - Walk all stages. Approx .5 mile hike.
Maplewood - Walk all stages. Approx .25 to .5 mile hike.
Glendalough - Walk all stages. Very short walks between. Longest walk is .1 mile. Must solve simple puzzle at each stage. Bring along favorite bird book to make it easier.
Good luck, and have fun! |

| We did the last four on our drive up to/through Fargo - easily doable. Lindbergh was too far off our route, but we did that one quickly on a recent stop in Little Falls. (Have not done Lake Maria yet.) |

having already got nearly all of the state parks other than the SE ones you should have no trouble getting those mentioned in a day. If you were going to do those along lake superior, i would say it isn't gonna happen in a day. there are some there that are nearly a 2 mile round trip. _________________ King of the Jeff Gordon TB's!

Cool thanks. It will be just me and I plan to have my bike along (and now my bird guide). I have all day Friday to drive up to Moorhead so figure I will do what I can.
Also hoping to swing up to Crookston or Fergus on Saturday to meet the magic bus. |

Bikes on the hiking trails? Don't get caught. |
