Despite the balmy weather today, the skies didn't cooperate for us tonight, but at least the night-cachers were able to nab a few caches in the vicinity of the observatory.
My boyfriend called at around 10:30 pm as he was driving out of the park, and he tells me that the skies were finally CLEAR out there... Such is November in MN. It was nice to see Silent Bob & Marsha, J.T., Twenty-Seven and kids (and their CUTE!! new husky puppy), KC0GRN, lone eagle, rickrich... anyone I missed?? Hope not! Thanks for coming out despite the clouds. I'll do another one of these next year, and just *maybe* mtn-man will approve the event then! |

Thanks for the event Buzzygirl, even if it wasn't an *official* geocaching event, I enjoyed it all the same. And thanks for showing me how to setup my telescope, hopefully on a clear evening I'll try and set it up outside to get more use out of it. Luckily I didn't hit (or see) any deer on my trip home.
Great meeting everybody again, nice to grab a couple caches in the park (even if I had to be off in the woods by myself after dark, creepy noises and whatnot). Nice to hear there's clear skies out there now. Lol! At least I got to see the big 16 inch scope, even Vega for a second when the clouds allowed for it.
I'd go again next spring, official event or not. |

very funny kc!!!!
I just seem to be having BAD luck this year when going out caching.
I had a deer (I believe it was a buck) run into the side of my truck on the way to the event tonight. *&%@ Hunters anyway. Why do they have to stir them up anyway.
I just about hit another one just leaving the observatory area. I decided to give up on caching the rest of the night, and just go home before something else happened.
Nice to see those from past events and a few new faces I haven't seen before. _________________ King of the Jeff Gordon TB's!

I'll bet he'd never trust you to be alone with that 16-incher. |

I was there and I'm logging the event. Even if there is no cache page and there was no cache. I was there and I deserve another point on my tally!
J/K. The last couple of months I have made more "event/get togethers" than caches.
Good seeing everyone and meeting new people!

Businessman goes on a trip. When he gets to his destination it is pouring rain. So he buys himself an umbrella to keep from getting his suit wet.
On return, he files his expense report including the cost of the umbrella. The accounting department rejects his expense report as personal items cannot be reimbursed.
After his next trip, the businessman files another expense report. He attaches a note: "now find the umbrella". |
