| I love the new theme, of course, but now I'm wondering....does this mean we have until June to get the last 7 parks we need of the safari theme? I'd pretty much given up hope that we'd be able to complete it in the near future. |

This was on the State Park's webpage for the current challenge...

Hey, Geocachers!
The Minnesota State Parks Geocaching Wildlife Safari will be ending on May 2, 2012. If you're still working on those challenges, work fast—because after May 2 the caches will be pulled while we get our NEW Geocaching Adventure ready to launch.
We'll have more information here soon, and the new adventure (with new challenges!) will kick off when parks open on June 9. That's National Get Outdoors Day, and entry to any Minnesota state parks will be free |
So Archer, looks like you called this one correctly. Not gonna happen for us now. So close and yet....I'm amazed we did as well as we did, given the fact that our household seems to have gone through one crisis or setback or another during this time. So we'll probably get the last seven parks we wanted as our first seven of the new series, since we coincidentally want to get the DeLorme pages over there, too. Maybe I can even get a couple of new life bird sightings along the way! |

| Why not keep the old caches there? It's not like the state parks don't have any room. |

I'm guessing that they are reusing the containers like they did last time. _________________ Hmm... |

How nice of them... I suppose that was better than a Cease and Desist letter being sent registered mail to your house! =) |

I know this is kind of an older post but they have released the newest brochure on the Avian Adventures Series. It appears that there will be 4 biomes that need to be completed before finding the final of the entire series (at Itasca State Park).
Stop by the park where the final Biome Bird Challenge cache is located and show a park staff person all the bird cards collected for that biome to receive the coordinates for the final Biome BirdChallenge. Each bird card is color-coordinated to one of the state’s four biomes.
Final Biome Bird Challenge Cache Locations:
Camden State Park: prairie grassland - yellow
Nerstrand Big Woods State Park: deciduous forest - green
Savanna Portage State Park: coniferous forest - blue
Lake Bronson State Park: tallgrass aspen parkland - brown
It also looks like there will be 9 state trail, recreational areas, etc added as well as there are now going to be 81 cards to collect vs 72 with the safari series.
Finally, for all of the FTF hunters out there, the cache coordinates will be released at 8am on June 9th. |

Now now Bart, sounds to me like you might currently be closer to the puzzle than those caches. Heh! _________________ "There is a pleasure in the pathless woods..." - Lord Byron |

I am headed up that direction in December but I thought I'd study my orinthology a bit ahead of time so that I am able to speak good bird when I get there. |

Well I have to say it was fun, tiring, wet, and all sorts of other things while completing the series. Not sure if I was the first to get them all correctly or not, but I'm glad to have finally completed a series. _________________ King of the Jeff Gordon TB's!

I'll trade you an Otter Bonus Card from the Safari Challenge for the Biome final coords at Camden. |

That's a simple one. Much easier than the Final state cache. Can't make it that easy on you. _________________ King of the Jeff Gordon TB's!
