I have no idea how feasible it would be, but WI seems to be able to pull it off.

Break the state into regions so regional caches are compared to one another for COTM rather than have voting on caches that are hundreds of miles away from some people. Not sure we'd get enough nominations to warrant the idea but I like it. Perhaps more of a regional flavor will draw more interest? Maybe, maybe not.

We have tossed that idea around bit...we have the same main concern as you pointed out in your post regarding overall interest.

Having been a member of the Wisconsin Forums, I have seen that area grow as well.

Why don't we start by breaking it into northern and southern areas first. We all make an effort to talk to other cachers about nominating/voting for caches. If only one cache in each section gets nominated, then they win by default.

That's not a bad idea. Also, we could use the 4 official zones that the DNR used for the original history challenge. It doesn't need to be exact.

I would also add...be sure to talk with Board Members about the idea...this is the MNGCA Cache of the Month afterall...not the msteffel and ArcherDragoon Cache of the Month.
