Taking some ideas about how we could become involved and help with geocaching, spatten and myself decided to invade another region. This time it's the Twin Cities. Nothing elaborate...just a flash mob...at MOA. Why wait til midnight, right? Start off the celebrations a bit earlier in the day with an event! Details are listed at this site:

I seriously hope to see a few of you again, and meet new people. The "clan" are eager to see some of you as well...and should act as perfect cover...heheheh.

So it occured to me that I forgot to update on here what has gone on over at gc.com. In short, here we go:

A real mob happened on Monday, that threatend OUR flash mob...and ultimately ruined a bunch of fun things for a bunch of people. Thru constant communication with a VP at MOA, we gained permission, followed by a special guest (spongebob), and prizes for the kids. Once the lovely numbers clicked in (I had told him around 100, and at THaT point 60 were reported), he asked that numbers not get too exorbinate. I asked what that looked like, and was then told the Exec VP had said no to a few others earlier in the week for other things. That said, we could still do our event, but no approval was given (meaning no spongebob or prizes). We were also "warned" that, "while odds are low" Security MIGHT show up and ask us to disperse in an ordely manner. This was said after I oftered to let them be there anyway and in a pic (hello challenge). To verify, I sent an email to the VP, and he came back saying that as long as we don't make ourselves known, we will not have to worry about security.

So....where does that leave us? The event is STILL ON! At this point, numbers (if all show) are at 90ish. We WILL be OK to show up and take our pics (like many foriegn tourists), sign our log, and leave. At WORST we will be asked to leave...quietly...after the pic (and a challenge might be mastered). The log will be present to sign before and after. Remember, the pic will be at 12:31 in the afternoon...in honor of 12/31.
