| If you show up at your own event you can log it as attended. In fact, you can log your own regular geocaches too if you like. Nothing stopping you. Anybody gives you a hrd time? Ignore them. |

Of course you "Can". I have done it many times.
Should you log attendance at your own event cache?
I don't care, that's up to you. Don't really know why you wouldn't.

On tribute caches that I have hid my wife logged even though we are a team. She found it also.All events that anyone goes to can be logged.If it is CITO and you pick up trash you deserve it.

I log my own events, yes.
I've logged one of my own physical caches. It's a multi where I did the first part and EskoClimber did the second part (but I own the listing). I had no idea what the second part was, other than the coordinates for it (which I had to put in the first stage). Even then I believe it took me a good year to get around to finding the 2nd stage.
Since then I've spent just as much time as some of the other finders in locating the first stage (a nano on a train engine), so I think I've earned the find.

As others have mentioned, I think much of it is up to the person.
I wouldn't, no. I would expect that many challenges submitted either have been accomplished by the hider or that the hider is darned close to completing them. For the hider, in a lot of cases, it's not really a 'challenge' to complete their challenge for themselves.
I think your same argument could be extended for owners that have to search to find their cache during a maintenance visit. I've spent more time on some of my caches trying to find them then some of the original seekers did. In fact, I've DNFed (and since archived) a cache of mine that I know is there but I just can't find.
Just because I've spent the time and effort in looking for my own cache (or time and effort completing the challenge) doesn't mean (to me anyway) that I'd log the find.
I'd qualify that with a couple of the larger, well known challenges (ie. the Delorme Challenge, County Challenge, etc). Those I'd think about a little more before I decided.
I thought that it used to say somewhere in the guidelines that it was bad form to log your own cache, but I don't immediately see it now.

Being bad form is not the same as Don't Log Your Own Caches. |

It's no different than people who go out with a friend/family when they place a cache and then log a find even though they helped hide it. Some cachers are number-obsessed and that's ok, to each their own. I once saw someone put the D/T rating of a cache they later logged way out of wack because it filled a box in their D/T grid...funny stuff  |

LOL.. I just did that for my event last weekend. Though I thought it was worthy of its rating and so did the entire group. |

Ok so here is one for those that collect the new Souvenirs
There will be a new one for the WWFM flash mob this weekend and IF you don't log a attended on one of thease events even if it is YOUR EVENT you will not get the souvenir.
