This may be our last opportunity to grab our shovels and dig up some ammo cans, so I'm calling a Rogers run for tonight.

We'll meet at the parking lot at N 45° 11.154 W 93° 31.496. In case that lot isn't plowed, the backup meeting plan is Cabela's at N 45° 11.234' W 93° 32.242'.

That crazy log

After finding those six caches -- well, after looking for them, anyway -- there will be a bonus puzzle cache to be found near Cabela's (with the owner's permission.)

Food and beverages to be had afterwards at Broadway Pizza Rogers, at 21431 141st Ave N, about one mile away.

Rogers' Foremost is doable from the Cabelas parking lot; the others may be a bushwhack.

The intended parking for those woods is at the parking lot at N 45° 11.154 W 93° 31.496 visible in Bing Maps. It's actually paved now, and TJ is pretty sure it has been plowed recently. *

Maybe park at Cabelas as a fallback in case the lot is inaccessible?

I"m not sure if I'll be there or not. Need to check with the boss. Sounds like fun. Digging around in the snow would be much more enjoyable with WNC! I wrote to one of the COs the end of December when I was considering this run - asking about conditions. Here is the reply:

thanks for having it here. I got to get my grandson con10 to cache with me and now I get him for the rest of the week We got them all found and
stayed warm doing it. I got this park cleaned out 2 years ago in Feb. so this is a good winter park to cache in. We need more WNC in different areas of the cities. Great time out there tonight

Thanks, Butcher! And thanks, everybody else who came out! It was a great time, and I don't know why that series of caches hasn't been found more often in the winter. Great winter caches.

That was a really fun time, it was great to meet everybody and talk caching. Weather wasn't too bad and most of the caches were pretty straightforward finds.
