Recently bacame interested in geocaching after years of using maps and compass to get around the woods here in the unglaciated area of SE Mn and NE Iowa. In process came accross the MnGCA site.
Will have to see what can be done to increase interest down here in the borderlands. Winona and the immediate Mississippi River area has some sites, but considering the interest in the Root River basin, I'm surprised there's not more. |

Welcome woodhous!
I took a quick trip through that area late last fall and only found the root roll up cache in that area. I agree that for a popular area, there aren't too many around.
Part of it might be the secluded nature of the area. I'm sure there will be more caches there over the summer. _________________ "I bet you can't tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel." - Sean to Will, Good Will Hunting |

| We were down there over the weekend and I scoped out 3 spots along the trail for caches. We plan on going back down there for an art show and will put them out as long as the weather cooperates. |

Woodhous,
I would like to see more for the SouthEastern area. I even would like to place a cache myself along with my daughter down here. I am from Rochester |

On Thursday, I placed 15 new caches, from Faribault to Owatonna, including Rest Areas on I-35 and I-90 East, Spring Valley, Grand Meadow, Money Creek, Preston, Mabel, and more.
I have not submitted them yet, and approval will take awhile. There are also a couple Lakers along that route.
Have fun. I did. |
