I am curious if anyone is interested in helping out here on Thursday. I still have to put together the presentation. I have some examples but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

The May 6th, 2010 Community Ed class for ISD 47 - Sauk Rapids/Rice has been CANCELLED. There may be an opportunity for another class this Fall.

ISD 47 - Sauk Rapids/Rice School District is once again looking for a geocaching offering in their Community Education program this spring. Anyone interested in helping out please contact me or better yet:

I have to say that I've seen very VERY (ie. zero) community education programs that are out there to make any profit. If any charge for a class (and many do), it normally covers the cost of the program and administration surrounding the program.
The point of posting these in my humble opinion is to promote geocaching to the general public, not to worry about who makes $2.50/student.
I can say this with experience - I've taught a class for the Hartley Nature Center in Duluth where the HNC charged for the class but didn't offer to pay me. I did it for the opportunity to promote caching. _________________ Hmm... |

I am just wondering because people seem to care about these things. I think that if someone was charging for it, I wouldn't offer.
Some people are however making money off geocaching. I wouldn't think of that as volunteering, rather a job.
I wouldn't let someone else make money off me though. _________________ ~~ I was told all I needed was a GPS. I wanted everything else. ~~ |

When I spoke with Kari, the ISD 47 director last fall, I told her I didn't want anything to help. She told me they would charge a minimal amount just to cover some general expenses. Seems to me it could be set up either way, volunteer or for a slight profit.

I know that.... I am also a member of OpenCaching, but I am not going to spin this that way. _________________ ~~ I was told all I needed was a GPS. I wanted everything else. ~~ |
