The cabin on Park Point has been removed recently. There's quite a bit of interesting discussion surrounding it.

I've always wondered what some of the history is around the cabin (which I never even realized was there before I started caching) - now I know:

I also never realized that part of the point is a SNA... Shocked

I must have missed the cabin referenced. I remember seeing an old brick structure (former lighthouse?) and a concrete building both further out past the airport. Can't remember off hand the date on the larger concrete building, but do remember the walk out there. That was really cool, and i sure enjoyed the stroll. Neat view from the big water side of the point too.

It's a very neat area. IIRC the cabin was the first thing you came to - it was on the bay side.

That hiking trail is by far my favorite area in the city - and one I never knew existing until I started caching.

Where can you find this trail?

That trail starts at the airport. If you park out near that area, and start walking east, stay north of hte airport chain link fence, folloiwng that you will be on the trail, that will lead you all the way out to the point.

Have fun, it is really cool.
