| I'm looking for restaurant locations to bring Breakfast Buddies to in the southern 1/3 of Minnesota in the next year. I was thinking maybe Granite Falls, Mankato, and possibly something in the Worthington area. Any suggestions for restaurants around towns that would have a nice group of caches to hunt? Thanks! |

Mankato has a Happy Chef:

According to their Facebook page, they have a banquet room that seats up to 50 people. _________________ "We never seek things for themselves-what we seek is the very seeking of things"-Pascal |

How about Fairmont? It's the home of one of the oldest active caches in MN, oh and Kurt Franke?

I bet there are some great non chain locations down there full of that southern hospitality. I actually hit a few of them when doing the State Park history challenge. Southern Minnesota sure is some beautiful country. _________________ Ahhhhhhhh, the power of cheese! |

The only one that comes to my mind in Granite Falls is Detoy's Family restuarant right along Hwy 212 in Granite Falls.
Detoy's Family Restuarant
845 Hwy 212 W
Granite Falls, MN

I have not been to this one though so I am not sure what type of setup they have. They also have a location in Madison, Benson, and Morris. I am more familiar with the one in Madison as I grew up there and have visited that one several times. That one is pretty small though and wouldn't be big enough to hold a group of any big size. Not sure how big the one is in Granite Falls.
The only other option I could think of would be the Casino (Prairie's Edge) just south of Granite Falls. Not sure if that would bother anyone though. You would have to look up their phone # and give them a call. _________________ King of the Jeff Gordon TB's!

speedysk1 - How did you know I was from Fairmont?
I would like to attend a Breakfast Buddies in my old home town. The have a suitable location called "The Ranch" I believe. Would you consider waiting untill July of 2011 for a Fairmont BB? That is when my court order gets lifted.

I wasn't sure if the Ranch was open for Breakfast and it's been a while since I was there. I couldn't remember how big it is inside. But that would be a good place too. _________________ Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. |

I already gave my recommendation for the area I know. SOme of the smaller towns don't have a whole lot of selection like more of the larger towns. It has been a while since there was a BB in Willmar as well. That might be an idea. _________________ King of the Jeff Gordon TB's!

Yeah there are a few. It seems like they have fallen off the face of MN.
With 2 deaths in the GF (girlfriends) family of two real young relatives (19, & 26) in the last couple of weeks I have been spending alot more time there than I have even thinking about cacheing. Haven't been out AT ALL yet in November.
There is supposed to be an event this Saturday morning in Marshall. I am hoping to get to it, but we'll see. Will try to put a bug in their ear about this, and we will see what happens. _________________ King of the Jeff Gordon TB's!

Fairmont would be nice and close for me! We have a few local cachers here that could help out. There are a dozen or so caches in town. The Ranch has a private room that is available for breakfast. Let me know if you want help organizing one in Fairmont. |

This is the 2nd mention of Fairmont so I'll add it to the list. Thanks! |
