Are there fewer cachers in the SW metro area (Eden Prairie) than in the West metro (Maple Groove, Crystal, Golden Valley)?

I live up in Crystal and work down in E.P. and don't see a lot of new caches down near work.

Does E.P. prohibit caches or are there just fewer people down in this area (or maybe my notification isn't catching this corner)?

A few points:

1. EP requires registration in city parks.
2. Three Rivers requires registration in parks.
3. There is HIGH cache density down here, so it's hard to find a place to put a new cache

There seem to be a LOT of active cachers in the EP area from what I've seen... Not sure how it compares to other areas though... Couple new ones were published last night, but otherwise it's been quiet for a while, and I presumed it's because of the cache density issue...

(Thanks for the move, I didn't realize there was a metro topic)

Of course as soon as I posted this and then looked at the map I saw the new 62 view and some others.

Probably they just don't register because my notifications are all home coord based (anything more than 3 miles and I probably tend to dismiss them).

I've loved all the caches down here near my work, seems like a lot more puzzles then north of 394... again that may just be my perception.

Hope to see you out there!!

Obviously you haven't seen all the caches in Puzzle Valley, I mean Golden Valley.

Yeah, only because of those convicted and dead voters that got to smoke all the way to the polls.

Eden Prairie has lots of open spots for caches, especially the east side. Unfortunately permission from the Parks dept. is needed to place one in a park. I think that discourages a lot of cachers. Chanhassen to the west doesn't have permission requirements and seems to be much denser.

And yes, there are a lot of puzzle nuts in the SW area, so therefore a lot of puzzle caches.

No it ran unopposed. Still kicking myself for not nominating something else.

I thought you were having as much fun puzzle-bombing the area as we did! Very Happy
