|
|
I was looking through the bookmark list for the MnGCA COTM Winners found here:
http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=5c52f2d8-411c-4d8d-8c56-a4f734b0c861
I am still fairly new at geocaching, and I am wondering if there is a way to sort the COTM winners by date, or distance from home coordinates, or to filter out the archived caches?
If not, I'll just browse the list and pick out the ones that aren't several hours away.
Thanks in advance. The few COTM winners that I have done were pretty great.

The best way to accomplish all of the questions you have is to create a pocket query based on the COTM bookmark. (See GC.com on how to do that as I forget off the top of my head, but I know it's possible as I already have one for that list.)
Then load that into GSAK (gsak.net) and you can sort and filter to your hearts desire.
Unfortunately, or at least to my knowledge, GroundSpeak doesn't have the capabilities that you are asking about.
Cheers! _________________ Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. |

Just to add on to what Speedy said... below is how to create the pocket query and also (in the second method) how you can also get a google earth kml of the bookmark list.
If you go to either of the bookmark lists at the bottom on that screen there is a button that says: "Create Pocket Query"
Winner's bookmark list
Winners and Nominees bookmark list
Or if you go to any CotM Winner or Nominee and click on the "View all <n> bookmarks lists..." link you'll be take to a page that has a table of all the bookmark list that cache is in as well as links to
"Create Pocket Query" and a "Download Google Earth KML" link. (see example)
I've also been toying with the idea of a list like the WGA has but have been too busy to really look into the best way to do that and be able to keep it updated easily. That would give you a chronological order, but wouldn't help with location or archive (but the PQ would and I think the .kml file too). |

I really like that. It's a bit easier than the bookmark to look through. _________________ Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. |
