Hey all,
I'd like to set up a string of caches in the old Crosby pits, but a park ranger last year told me that the DNR and the county were having some kind of turf war in the area, and were basically being a pain in non-fisher's rears.
When I checked a couple weeks ago, there was only 1 active cache and 1 archived cache in the Crosby/Ironton area (GCPKY3 and GC135BJ).
Since then, it looks like a few older caches have been enabled a bit farther afield from the pits, and the Sesquicentenial cache has been added.
I'd like to point people towards some of the better diving and fishing entries (trust me, the pig-roads around the pits are a difficulty 2 in and of themselves), but I'm not sure which parts of the pits are DNR controlled, and which parts belong to the county.
Would someone mind taking a look at the area in question and point me towards a tax map or other recent set of boundaries?
Thanks in advance,

| I ended up having to move back to Tennessee last year, but thanks for the update. Also I found the DNR Data Deli if anyone else is interested in the area. |

Hi. I see this is an old post but thought I'd update that as of June 2011 we hope to have more caches in the State Recreation Area and surrounding communities. Our group is just forming and we welcome anyone who would like to join us.
