Happy New Year, Lets get this thing going. There are 3 newer caches in the Rum River Park that I need to get. There are a lot more if you want to pre-cache or get, if they are on the way. Parking/ meeting spot at at the Anoka County Library @ N45°13.806 W093°22.920
Caches are:
GC226T8
GC225W9
GC226T5
After that we could go to Bakers Square @ N45°12.377 W093°21.517 and grab 3 more caches within walking distance, then go inside to eat, unless somebody comes up with a better place to go.
Caches there are:
GC20J74
GC20J80
GC209QD
I hope to have a good turn out. I will have a couple sets of snowshoes to loan out for the first three caches. This just makes it easier to walk but not a necessity. If you have a set, bring them of you want.
See You there, TopGear |

| Do you give snowshoe lessons?? I've never tried them, the concept seems simple enough though. Are they size specific? Might have to see if the Mrs. is up for some Fri night caches... |

Sorry I can't make Friday Night Caching at Rum River. Sounds like fun.
Just a note on snowshoes: they are size specific but it isn't shoe size. The bindings connecting you to the snowshoes are generally a one-size-fits-all system. But, the more you weight the bigger the snowshoe you will need. You're trying to displace your weight over more square inches of snow.

Good to know. I guess I'll need a pair the size of Vermont then! |

Bummer we missed it, we had something come up at the last minute. On the bright side I had to go over to Ft Snelling for the station today for the winter trails thing, so I finally got to try snowshoes out. Surprisingly I didn't need ones the size of Vermont, and it was easier than I thought it would be. (So easy I used them with my camera) So I'm thinking the next snowshoe type FNC I'm going to have to rent some at the friendly Maple Grove REI for me and the Mrs. |

| it was so cold my Colorado quit working half way through the night. Don't put all your info on a sd card, when they get to cold the quit and you endup with a blank screen. To bad none of the pics turned out though, it was fun. |
