I was browsing a bookmark from along the MS River, that included both WI and MN cemetery caches.
(I maintain a set of (currently) 3 public bookmarks for WSQs.)
Seeing some MN cemetery caches listed, I went hunting thru them to find a bookmark for MN. Could not find one.
So, came to the MnGCA looking for one. No place that I can find that lists bookmarks.
Browsed the forums but could not find anything about bookmarks.
So .......
1. Has it been discussed, about having a bookmarks list on the MnCGA pages?
2. If not, it should be. Public bookmarks are especially useful for cachers from outside the state and/or area.
They serve as alert to special caches or series. Does Grand Rapids (for example) have a list of caches that are a must do when in the area?
Is there a power trail in Lake Webegon? A bookmark would be nice for a fast download.
Does the state have a list of their Caches of the Month? |

I'm not sure if it's been discussed before, but the only issue that I can see is maintenance of the lists. I think we've always relied on individual cachers to maintain lists, ie their public bookmarks. This isn't a bad idea, but I fear the maintenance might be tough. Also, besides CoTM, who decides what lists to create? What caches should qualify for the list? Just my thoughts.
As for CoTM, Pear Head does maintain 2 lists, 1 for just the winners and 1 for all nominees.

This is an interesting idea. There are other lists out there besides my COTM lists - I know TimbreWlf maintains a list of all caches within State Parks, minnesotafox I believe has the list of current Safari caches. There's a list of night caches (I'm thinking that one may be mine as well)... Having one central location to locate all of these may be nice.
I could see it where it's up to the individual users to maintain the lists, but those lists that are being actively maintained be listed on the MnGCA site.
My thought would that it would be nice to list them as a tab on the front page, but we don't have much for space left on the tab bar (if any). I'll discuss this some with the GeoPierce as well as with the board to see what everyone else's thoughts are.
In the mean time, adding additional links to bookmark lists here would prove helpful.
I'm also moving this to the website forum. _________________ Hmm... |

It's like saying "The Man", only I was more specific here. _________________ Hmm... |

| All of my available bookmarks seem to be tied up into KB challenges. I suspect I can start deleting some of them now. |

You can have 40. You have a ton of "private" ones?
Seriously, any Challenges that have been found a lot, you may delete.
I'd prefer ones like D.O.A. remain up for awhile. |

Somebody gave me a good idea with the bookmark list thing for completing caches. Create a jpeg off of the excel spreadsheet with all the caches for the challenge and then upload it as an image. I liked that idea as I am using bookmarks for trips and stuff that I would like to complete. _________________ ~~ I was told all I needed was a GPS. I wanted everything else. ~~ |

And you wonder why Norvina can't keep track of hers?
She does just fine doing it her way. |
