Just got a note that I have a new follower on Twitter, so I decided to check him/her out to see if I should follow back.
* Name Geocaching
* Location Somewhere on a hunt
* Web http://www.geocaching-store.com/
* Bio Love the sport of geocaching
Hmm, so far so good....lets see what they post:

Hmm, horses, must have some mixed interests

Ok, so their store sells geocaching and horse stuff, no problem there.

Hmm, so far no geocaching stuff...odd for a caching twitter account, but whatever, lets move on

Ok, now we are getting to caching related content.

Wait, what?
The rest of the posts go down hill from there, and I'd have to moderate myself if I posted them, so I'll leave it to your imagination.
Guess it's just a reminder to check people out before following them. |

Maybe by putting a cache there? But then, you risk what sex would show up 1st. _________________ Effective parks and recreation facilities do not just happen on their own. They require professional care and financial support to keep them clean, safe and suitable for the community they serve. |

Oh drats, for a minute there I thought I was on twitter. Twitter is lame. Quite frankly, I'd rather watch a movie on VHS. |

eh. I could say the same thing about most of the self-serving blogs out there.
If you are selective about who you follow and who you let follow you, Twitter can be both useful and entertaining. Like any other tool, it can be abused. |

Oh, I know. If you're speaking of my blog, I suppose it is self serving. The pictures and diatribes help me remember my experiences. I am fully aware that people aren't lining up to read my blog and quite frankly, I'd rather have it that way. I am not clamoring or begging for blogging groupies like that other lightning-something-or-other blog does. |

The third definition is the most appropriate, I think.
twit1 /twɪt/ verb, twit⋅ted, twit⋅ting, noun
–verb (used with object) 1. to taunt, tease, ridicule, etc., with reference to anything embarrassing; gibe at.
2. to reproach or upbraid.
–noun 3. an act of twitting.
4. a derisive reproach; taunt; gibe.
twit2 /twɪt/
–noun a weak or thin place in yarn caused by uneven spinning.
twit3 /twɪt/
–noun Informal. an insignificant or bothersome person.
Origin:
1920–25; perh. orig. n. deriv. of twit 1 , i.e., “one who twits others,” but altered in sense by assoc. with expressive words with tw- ( twaddle, twat, twerp, etc.) and by rhyme with nitwit
twit4 /twɪt/
–noun an excited state; dither: to be in a twit about company coming. _________________ "We never seek things for themselves-what we seek is the very seeking of things"-Pascal |

Sure. But mine is still self serving. But not for self agrandizing reasons (sp?). |
