My family moved from a rental home to the house they built when I was nearly five. I remember that it was raining as the family was packing the last few things into the truck pulled up backwards on the sidewalk leading to the front door. The house was empty except for some tinkertoys my brother and I were playing with in a dark, back bedroom.

I hid in the closet (knowing my mother would be worried). Surely, I thought that if I stayed in the closet until the morning, the new family would find me, adopt me, and I'd get to walk a block to school when I got into kindergarden. I was an optimist then too!!

With regard to pictures or reminders, I think the camera was packed; I've never seen a photo, and I don't recall my parents reminding me about it. It was one of those traumatic things... My brother got to walk to kindergarden (with mom), and I want to too!!

Probably a 2k stick, in an IBM computer.

That brings back another memory... we used to use audio tapes (as well as the 5.25" floppies) to save and retrieve data on our Radio Shack TRS-80 computer!

My father used to write simple game programs on that machine. I recall once playing a game all day, getting a headache, and having nightmares about it that evening.
