Since I tripped on this following the line of thought from another thread, I guess I'd like this brought up to date.
Were there 10 trial caches placed?
How have they been received?
Is Anoka county any closer to figuring out what they want to do? (they seem to have a million reasons to not move forward: too busy, the intern has it, the intern left, too busy.....)
With Dakota county now having their hand forced into coming up with some sort of statement regarding geocaching, it's possible that Anoka might follow Dakota's lead - especially given Anoka's demonstrated lack of ability to push an item on the "to do" list over to the "did it" list. That may make any work the board or emissaries do with Dakota county that much more important. Seems that the lines of communication are open there, and some sort of policy statement will be developed in the relatively near term. |
You missed an excuse
"the wheel isn't round enough"
Anoka County has to reinvent everything rather than look at what is out there and addapt that to there needs........I won't go on with this because I could rant for awhile about it. |

| with the three recent caches hidden at Coon Rapids dam which is Anoka County Park territory, it would seem that there is an openness to new caches? |

this depends on what side of the river they are on, the west side is hennepin co. but stiill coon rapids dam is also part of three rivers park district. |

| To the best of my knowledge, the Anoka County Parks geocaching policy has not changed. The fact that they worked with the NPS to allow a few caches in Coon Rapids Dam Park is an encouraging sign though. |

So what was your take on the application process? Quick and easy or different?
I assume the turnaround time on your application was pretty quick as well then?

I didn't want to mail in the form, and I couldn't get my Acrobat8 to allow text copy. I clicked the email link, then copied the form (I think)

Anyway I sent them in at 5:45 am and received the approvals at 2:15 pm
If I wasn't busy doing chores, I woulda ran over there and placed the hides. Oh well, gives me something to do tomorrow.
Oh yeah, both are traditional regulars, no SOCs |

I just wanted to say thanks to the Anoka County Parks Department and to all of the cachers who were involved in working out a policy so we can enjoy the great parks in Anoka County.. _________________ Remember One does not need the MNGCA to geocache, but the MNGCA does need members to survive. |
