If I didn't browse rickrich's maps now and then, I would have likely asked the same question. For instance, look what happens to this Duluth map when there's only two new caches:
http://mngca.rkkda.com/maps/Duluth.html
and more humorously what happens to Rochester when there's only one new cache:
http://mngca.rkkda.com/maps/Rochester.html

towlebooth: See if you can reference the raw maps on my site from this site by using the folllowing HTML/Javascript:
| Code: |
<img src="http://geo.rkkda.com/lakers/metro.png" usemap="#metro"></img>
<MAP NAME="metro">
<script language="JavaScript"
src="http://geo.rkkda.com/lakers/metro.js">
</script>
</MAP>
|
Substitute state for metro in 4 places to link to the state map. |

Ok, I confess, I'm only half geek. The rest has to be hit into my head with a 2x4.
I thought the maps would should were the lakers are. But they don't, so I'm wrong., so what's new?
Will they one day?
Not being pushy, just confussed. You'll note that wasn't difficult. _________________ Save the earth.

I think that the "laker map" is still in the works. The maps that s4xton linked to above were just rickrich's cache maps that he likes to make. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone! _________________ |

R.J. is correct. The "Laker Map" in it's current form can be seen here:
http://geo.rkkda.com/lakers/
It's not updated very often yet... I dropped one around noon that hasn't shown up yet 8 hours later... did he say 2-3 times a day? I am too lazy to dig through the thread.
From how I understand the thread, it seems that Towlebooth will be putting the map on the lakers page itself at some point possibly.

I poll every 30 minutes now, and update the maps if there have been any changes. But I get my info from a text file that may not be updating yet. |

We were working concurrently! The text file now updates at every grab/drop.
I've also incorporated the maps into the site. Linked on the lakers index page:

Only one problem with the map though. It doesn't cover the whole state!!! I'm still waiting for the lakers that Centris was going to send on Monday. She must have been having a bad day cause she forgot to send them. Hopefully they get sent today so that I can get them for the weekend? Thanks again Centris for taking the time to mail them to me. |

The map will dynamically change if there are laker pieces in other parts of the state.
Mild discussion of this about 10 posts up.

Hi all,
Looks like I still don't have my text file generation working exactly right. drops make it on the map but grabs don't leave it.
I'll fix this later tonight. . . |

So I didn't get to tweaking last night. . .but now it looks right, even after more pickups and grabs. Anyone see any discrepancies? |

| Burle is sopposed to be at Crow's Nest in Rockford. This was my secend drop attempt of the day. The first was thwarted by by a water filled cache, (owner was notified) then this one. No log in the cache of any laker being plaved there or grabbed from there. Last log was 5/6/04. |
This looks like a true MIA, not a problem with the mapping.
team-deadhead contacted me regarding issues registering/logging in and said that he had a Laker - maybe it is this one. He should have it logged in soon. |
