I don't know if I can completely accept that premise. For example:
Weeping Willows??
Quaking Aspen??
Sounds like some of them might be a tad sensitive to me. _________________ -Paklid |

| I just went to the backyard and tore a branch off my Linden just to make myself feel better. |

| Just make me smile every time I hear "geocaching" on the short list of activities one is encouraged to get out and do in the State Parks. Thanks to everyone who worked to make this a positive relationship. |

Some else mentioned that to me the other day too. They heard a listing for State Park activity's ..... hiking, canoeing, skiing, geocaching....
I noticed on the State Park web site they have a list of ALL the caches in State Parks. _________________ Dinnae fash yersel (don't worry yourself) |

We completed our 23rd critter cache last saturday. So far we are enjoying and have not encountered any problems with the caches we have found.
We have been lucky to find one wild card also. updates for cache pages to camden and split rock creek sent out to pearhead. |

| I have two issues with the William O'Brien multi, GC1P512. A hole was drilled in an informational kiosk and a LARGE hole, maybe 5" x 11" x 8" was carved out of a stump that's still in the ground. Do groundspeak rules not apply to the State Parks? |
I did this cache today. With the exception of not remembering the hide techniques until after the fact in the pouring rain, I have no problem with the way they were hidden.. except, I had to use the PAF network. These two middel stages have to be brutal for the noobs. |

Wondering if this is common or not... I'm only at 53 caches or so, so I don't necessarily know much
Did the Wildlife Safari cache at Frontenac State Park, and I was dismayed to see the first 2 stages aren't actual physical containers - just coordinates stuck to things (back of a bulletin board, for example). Final stage is a physical cache of course... but after doing Itasca (where every stage is a container), and every multi I've done up to now has been physical containers... it just felt like cheating...
I realize it's supposed to be easier for beginning cachers... but is there such a thing as too easy? |

Out of the 6 SP caches I've done this year, just finding a set of coordinates for the 1st couple stages seemed to be the norm. I think they're pretty much just doing it that way to prevent bushwhacking.
I've often wanted to use just a sticker for 1st or second stages of a multi, (just to be evil) but didn't know if it was legal. _________________ ...formerly 'dachebo'. |

I guess one thing to remember about the State Park caches, is that there are 72 different hiders so you will see different ideas and effort put in to hiding.
As Dances said, the main reason nearly all the park caches are multis is to keep cachers on trails and not to bushwhack. Something they learned from last year. _________________ Dinnae fash yersel (don't worry yourself) |

By the way, a container is not needed for the preliminary stages of a multi. You will find multis with a stage where you will come to a sign or plaque and have to get info from the sign to find the next. _________________ Dinnae fash yersel (don't worry yourself) |

Good to know... that's pretty much what I was getting at. Wasn't sure if that was common/legal or not. I would think it would be less likely to happen outside of a state park... I'll have to remember to be more open-minded when I visit future multi's
Looking forward to visiting the other 70 parks!
Thanks! |

It is always good to check a multi's cache page before you go. That is why I do not try a multi with out my PDA. _________________ Dinnae fash yersel (don't worry yourself) |

I would have to say that it's fairly common to find the coordinates outside of a physical container. I have a few caches like that (most if not all of my multis don't have physical containers for the intermediate coordinates). I've found many many others like that as well. _________________ Hmm... |
