I was browsing my database of unfound puzzles and came across this:

What I noticed about this page, however, was the logo on it designating it as one of the nominees for COTM. I thought it might be a neat idea for the organization to create an image with the month and year for each nominee and winner to put on their cache page. This would make its COTM worthiness much more visible to other cachers. Even out of the area cachers would see it on a cache page and know that a particular cache has stood out among others in the state. I'm not sure how much work it would be, even if there was a generic nominee logo and a generic winner logo. It would be easy enough to email or post in a log the image so it is available for a cacher to put on his/her cache page as an image. Thoughts?

I would, but I my extent of graphic design software is MS Paint. I was think something simple, like the MnGCA logo with text overlay: "MnGCA Cache of the Month: WINNER" or "MnGCA Cache of the Month: NOMINEE". Since the recognition is coming from the members of the organization, this would connect it directly to the organization that is recognizing it.

Here is a basic design I came up with. It isn't anything exciting, but it is straight and to the point.

Any thoughts by the members on these? I didn't know if we might look to do something a bit more creative or if this is a nice simple image that cachers could put on the cache pages. Also, we would need to figure out how to organize it in terms of who would get the images to the owner, how, etc.

I would be interested in seeing more designs, not because I think this one's bad (I DON'T), but just to have more options. If we don't see any options in the next week or so then I suggest we move forward with this design.

My suggestion would be for the COTM moderator to post a note on a cache page when nominated and another for the winner (this may be already happening?) with a link on how to add the icon for those that would be interested in having it on their cache page.

The Logo should have the MNGca website.... Perhaps something more catching than the current logo with text....

Maybe the logo on an ammo can? Give me ideas, and Ill see what I can come up with.

It should be distinguishable from the current logo, but recognizing MNgca at the same time.
