Crud. Now I have to drive back up to the Arrowhead to put those wild cards back where I got them only to have to return in a week and a half to find them again. Oh well.

Since no one has commented on this. I must say I am very impressed with the quality of the hides this year. The logbooks in the Safari caches are among the most professional and informative logbooks I've ever seen in any cache. Top notch. Hats of to whomever created those.

Well, if I were you...I would just hold onto them...or at least just hold onto one and drop off the other one somewhere else...the bonus cards really are not tied to parks exactly...just that the patches will only be available at GPS Demo Parks...

Since no one else has asked, what do you want for one of those wild cards?

Kind of looks like I want to hoard a spare wild card....

All I said was that if having an extra wild card didn't gain me anything, I was going to just put it into a cache (FTF prize or whatever) vs. picking a person to give it to. More of an equal opportunity acquisition.

If this is for one of those cards, I am thinking $15? That would be a nice addition to my card collection.

$20 and a gift card to Best Buy with an undisclosed balance on it. I guarantee that it is higher than $10 but less than $100.

You pay that, he said he has two... maybe I can get away with my $15?

I'm not sure the DNR would be happy about the prospect of these things being auctioned off and I wouldn't want any proceeds from something I took out of one of their caches. However, if the concensus is that it would be OK for the MnGCA to accept something in return for directing a Safari wild card to someone, I would give it to the event organizer for an upcoming MnGCA event to make the card auction part of the festivities. That gives you time to find a freebie on your own and still have the option to acquire one at an MnGCA event. By that time, the market price might be considerably less.

Aw shucks, I was dead serious in my offer. How about the proceeds from me you donate? Wink Wink I think the gift card is worth somewhere in the $40-60 range.

Sorry folks been out being Scottish last weekend. But here is what I know about the wild Cards. I checked all the memos I have recieved and not seen anything about wild cards going out after Memorial Day. The patches, I have heard are done and should be in the parks soon as will the coins.

Each year of the program there will be 300 very special, non-trackable collectible
“Wild Cards” randomly placed in park geocaches throughout the year. They will be numbered serially
300, like limited prints. For 2009, the Wild Card will be the River Otter. Wild Cards for 2010 and
2011 have yet to be determined. Wild Cards will be publicized so geocachers know they are on the
lookout for one of the 300 wild cards to collect. In addition to having only one of 300 wild cards to add
to their collection of cards, each Wild Card entitles them to receive a free Wildlife Safari Patch at a Demo Park office. The patches will be for sale, as a general merchandise item, at many state parks in
addition to Demo Parks.
When a geocacher presents a Wild Card at a
Demo Park office, park staff should stamp
the back of the card with their park stamp
and award them with the free Wildlife
Safari Patch. This ensures the Wild Card
cannot be used to acquire a second free
patch.
