Its that time folks...and the Cache Of The Month Nominees for April 2009 are:
GC1MH8K: It's in the Foreground! by shane0858 and orion_the_hunter
nominated by kalli01
I would like to nominate It's in the Foreground by shane0858 and orion the hunter. Its a mystery cache. My reason for nominating it is that I don't usually do mystery caches but this one was fun; it took us around the city looking for the clues. Out-of-towners might have some trouble but should still be able to do it. Thanks -- the wife and I liked it a lot! kalli01
GCNQ85: Brown's Creek Landing by GPSr
nominated by emmanogoldfish
I would like to nominate Brown's Creek Landing as it make use of a little known postage stamp sized property that would otherwise go unnoticed, is a quick multi and involves a little bit of actual orienteering.
GC1MHNC: Tunnel Through Time by Good Neighbors
nominated by butcherandswimmer
This is a well done micro and all of the "time" and "back to the future" caches by the Good Neighbors are well done cache pages, wiith the changing photos and all. I really enjoyed finding this well-made cache. Everyone that has found this cache has liked it. Thanks! Larry the butcher
GC1GQZ5: Nearly Naked by seldon
nominated by bflentje
It is a 2/5 cache down in the Faribault area. There are a couple of different reasons for nominating this cache. First, have you ever found a bad Seldon cache?? Ok, maybe one or two, but the majority are high class in either location, container, hide, or overall execution. Secondly, this cache was fun for me because the first time I approached it I went in blind. I got to GZ, took one look, and shook my head while admiring some caching geek that thinks just like me. While the cache is a 5 star terrain, many people have the necessary equipment to accomplish this cache. And those that don't have the equipment at hand can easily acquire it on an hourly, half day, or full day basis (just ask Gilby). This cache is a must do simply for the challenge. There's NO WAY to cheat by using ice. I suppose you could wait around for the next bolt of lightning to come by but I'd hate to be standing there when that happens.

Truly one of the hardest votes yet. I have found three of these, and all three are more than deserving, as I am sure the fourth one (It's in the Foreground) is also. _________________ "There is a pleasure in the pathless woods..." - Lord Byron |

Any votes after 4/30 violates the guidelines set by Millah. But at the end of the day, you get your spite and I don't give a rip. So there.. |

Maybe the 'guidelines' could be clarified to avoid disagreements? "Voting for COTM will open on the 20th of each month. This will give me a hard date to remember (rather than 1 week prior to the end of the month) and the membership ample time to cast their votes." That is all I see, I know I could be missing something more formal.
There is no closing date mentioned, but implied only. I would suggest something to the effect "Voting will end abruptly sometime after the end of the month". This frees the moderator from being ready on the clicker at midnight at the turning of each month, or implementing some sort of automated forum closing.
That being said, I wish and hope we don't have to be so rigid about something which is supposed to be simply FUN. |

| When you create the poll, you can specify how many days you want it to run for. |

Correct, as pfalstad stated...
So, regardless of when the month ended...if the poll was still open, those votes should count... _________________ You may only be young once...but I will be immature forever!!! |

I am not concerned about the winner.. my original post was merely more of a call to visit that cache. However, I have the position (THAT I WON'T FIGHT FOR) that a poll should have an official begin and end. And if you miss the opening then you waive your (perceived) right. |

Hello all...for what it's worth, I apologize for the delay in closing voting -- in the hurry to get out of town to the spring event, I neglected to close the poll . Thanks to all that voted in the extended period and a special congratulations to Good Neighbors as the April 2008 COTM winner! |
