Really KB? Hmmmm... I might need that info down the road. Day use areas close at 10 pm. I found a reference to trail hours can be set by the Commissioner, but it doesn't list what they are.
Mendota Heights - 6 am to 10 pm Yay!
From Rochester ordinances: 45B.13. Hours. No person, except police officers and the employees and servants of the Board, shall be present in any park or parkway between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. each day, except that the Board may designate different hours for individual parks or parkways as deemed appropriate. Enforcement of park closing hours, when different from the general park closing hours indicated above, shall not be made until such time as signs clearly indicating the closing and opening times are erected at all entrances to the park or parkway. This section is not intended to prohibit pedestrian travel along improved trails within a park unless the signs at the entrances to the park or parkway indicate that such travel is prohibited. [All emphasis is mine].
I guess they are open until 11pm unless you see something else clearly posted.
This is the third city where I found references to hours that do not prohibit walking through a park at any time. |

I would highly recommend that anyone hiding a cache in a Rochester park, or any other park with hours outside the norm of the entity's park rules for that matter, post the park hours on the cache page. It also helps to use the "Not at night" circle-with-a-line-through-it attribute when appropriate.
p.s. I added many more cities last night. |

Yippeeee!!!!
I'm working on City of Maplewood too. I brought it up for discussion in our planning for 2009 on the Parks Commission. I was a fill in for the Commission in 2008. Let's see if my rabblerousing gets me re-appointed or not. |

I didn't have anything to do with Three Rivers, I'm just reporting it. I'm hoping to have something to do with Maplewood's |

| I was over at one of the Three Rivers Parks and saw a sign listing the closing hours as 10pm, so I think they have finally adopted the new closing hours! |

My understanding is the policy has been in place for some time, they just haven't updated all the signs. When I called them this winter, they told me all parks were 10pm. When we arrived at the park the sign still said sunset.
Glad to hear they are finally updating the signs. _________________ Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. |
