I've seen a camera car running its route making more street views. I've also noticed one of my neighbors captured "on film" standing in her driveway by the street view camera car. But it wasn't until today that I wondered if there were any caches visible by a streetview camera photo.

Today, I was looking at a map of the 7-corners area and out of curiosity, I zoomed in on where I hid the Hey- How About a Beer! cache in that area. All the way zoomed in changed from an overhead sat photo to a street view photo. So I panned around and saw the power pole upon which I had hidden my cache. Since I knew exactly where my cache was located, I could see it! To everyone else, it will look like a very fuzzy slight discoloration on the power pole. In today's reality, the entire pole has been removed as part of the 35W work so the cache isn't there any longer.

I wonder if there are other caches, maybe a bit larger, that are located closely enough to a street view enabled street that we could see the cache container from the comfort of our own offices. If so, I wonder if it would be OK to log a find on them........

Maybe that gigantic "ammo box" cache that I've seen photos of but don't know where it lives??

Interesting idea. The BIG BOY cache isn't there anymore and I can't see it on street view, although there's some interesting looking stuff in the driveway: BIG BOY

There's always virtuals, like this one (since archived): I Couldn't Resist. Of course you didn't even need street view for that.

My favorite use of streetviews is solving puzzles without wasting gas.
