How does everyone feel about Famous Dave's? I don't think rib sauce is any harder to wash off than chicken sauce, and they also have adult-style beverages. I'm not sure how they feel about a large group of people coming in all at once, but as long as we're all paying customers, they can't have too much problem ringing the till--the BWW crew didn't seem to mind our presence this weekend, and I don't think we scared off any of their other customers. _________________ There comes a time in every young boy's life when he gets an irresistible urge to seek buried treasure.--Mark Twain |

| I'm good with famous daves, not big on chicken wings, so other styles of barbecue work better by me. |

I'm OK with just about any place as long as adult beverages are served. I would just like to see it held someplace south of the 94 center line for us having to drive up from the South and the East. _________________ Airborne All the Way! |

the best place for bbq in minnesota is at two places...and I don't think that either serve adult pops...
the other is a place I think is in minnetonka area ..I know its in a strip mall ..and the guy that started it is from texas....place is called Baker's ribs...I'm not sure how big the joint is because I have never been to the baker's rib joint...BUT I KNOW its the best in the cities from many sources...
I'm not sure of the size of the place either.....but they do have sauce...... |

I second the motion to hold the next Get Sauced event at a Famous Daves.
How about the Famous Dave's in Bloomington at:
5101 W 98th St
Or:
7593 147th St--Apple Valley? |

In response to Kitch, Baker's Ribs is in a strip mall in Eden Prairie, kinda across from EP Center - it's near the 494/212 intersection, just off of Flying Cloud Drive.
It IS very good, but it's also very small and they don't serve adult beverages. Definitely recommended for anyone visiting the area though...it's not terribly expensive and it's quite tasty! FWIW, thanks!

You left out John Hardys BBQ the best I have ever had north of St. Louis it only has two locations in Rochester and it does serve adult beverages but it closes at nine I highly recommend it if you are in town
Check out http://www.bbq-porch.org/ it does mention Bakers which is very good and John Hardys |

I've got Rooster's BBQ just a few blocks from the house, and they have excellent Memphis style BBQ. They also only have only three tables and no barley pop. Anyhow, with the meeting and CITO event in a couple weeks, and the Spring/Summer event in May, I was thinking of sometime in June or July unless someone wants to put one together earlier. Famous Dave's in Calhoun Square is centrally located, but parking uptown really stinks--there's also the one on West 7th in St. Paul, by Highland Park (good place to put a couple of caches), and the one on Robert Street in West or South St. Paul. _________________ There comes a time in every young boy's life when he gets an irresistible urge to seek buried treasure.--Mark Twain |

This famous daves is about a mile south of the BBQ and Blues at Calhoun Square without the parking issues. It is also a little more informal style seating than some of the Famous Daves like in Mtka and Bloomington(i.e. wait to be seated style) If it starts to warm up they also have an outside area that is real nice to hang out in. They do serve BEER.

Just wanted to throw this out as an idea for sometime this spring or summer...
The event to start at Mainstreets Bar and Grill in Hopkins. They have good bar food and barley pop. Then, as a walking cache machine, we can do RJ's Gee, I'm an EZ and The Source of Nine Mile Creek, and any new caches in that area.
Of course, Gee, I'm an EZ is a long multi/puzzle, so there will need to be a few stops at the various watering holes in Hopkins in order to get recharged. Hopkins is a very walkable town, my favorite in the West Metro.
A variation on this would do the event during the Hopkins Raspberry Festival. On July 9,10,16, and 17 (Fridays and Saturdays) there will be an outside tent with live music, food, and barley pop starting at 8:30PM, along with all the other stuff going on. A bunch of semi-lubed cachers roaming the streets of Hopkins won't look odd at all during that time.
