It's so strange living here in MN. You rarely hear him played here and no one is really a fan (I know Arcticabn is). Everywhere else in the world it's always playing on a jukebox and people are happily drinking their lives away pretending they were on the beach.

It could all come back to the first thing I remember a Minnesotan say to me when I said I was leaving for my yearly trip to Hilton Head Island, "why would you want to go to the ocean? We have lakes!"

I was once on long road trip and "Songs You Know By Heart" was the only cassette we had with us, but we never did get tired of it. Also, I met him once in Montana, but never saw him play. Right now, "A Pirate Looks at 40" is starting to have more and more significance to me (less than 3 months before the dreaded day is here).
