|
|
A recent thread on the national forums including a comment about UPN 50's recent story about Geocaching. At the end of the segment the news anchor said "You can get a GPS unit for about $75 or you can get a life." and that was followed by laughter from him and his co-anchors...
You can see the thread on the MI Geocaching forum (includes a WMV file of the segment):

haha nice story anyways, too bad they slanted it more towards the childish end of things.
I thought I got into geocaching so I'd have a life So my twist on that reporter would be "You can sit at a desk and be a News Anchor, or you can get a life" |

Its too bad they showed a cache that you have to dig in the snow to get. Thats likely to turn off some people. But otherwise a good report, one of the best I have seen.
No problem here with the final comment. If you can't laugh at yourself, thats when you have no life.

There is 3 emails address's you can write to the station. I did, did anyone else? I personally think Zimmerman is the one who needs to get a life.

Laughing at yourself and having someone else laugh at you are two different things

Could someone provide an e-mail address for the anchor and/or station? It's fine to have fun with a news topic, but to make a joke at the expense of people who get a lot of exercise and occasionally clean up the environment is very sad.
Does my brother, who has cerebral palsy, need to get a life because it is an outdoor activity he enjoys participating in?
How about the parents of young children who are enthusiastic about geocaching. Do these parents, who are teaching their children navigation skills and appreciation for the outdoors, need to get a life as well? Or is it the children who need to get a life? I think I'd like to ask this wise news anchor for a clarification on that. |
