Thinking about the audience, this camp is pretty exclusive, it's for 16 high school girls and 40 middle school girls who show an aptitude and interest in math. They have to fight for a spot here, so I would think that they would be interested in learning as much as possible. |

I went through the How Stuff Works and that is excellent. Also enough math available to keep anybody happy.
There was something about gab mentioned somewhere... |

Got a follow up from them today:

Thanks for discussing this with your group! Don't let "math
professors" scare you, you should know that we are pretty
laid back, especially at camp!!
I have located 4 GPS units (from our Geography department - Garmins) and I will continue to work on finding some more units, so that we would not put
too many of yours in danger of being dropped or mishandled in some other
way.

I am recommending Central Park in Roseville, I figure that park is fairly central in the twin cities and has lots of good caches to find. |

| If you need another body their i can make it. I know many of the geocachers in MN are on the older side so to show that "Teens" also are geocachers might encourage more of the girls to continue to cache. well if you guys want one more person just email me or pm me. |

Bonnie was lucky enough to go to their Science Technology & Engineering Preview Summer Camp for Girls (STEPS), last year. Though she didn’t have to fight to get a spot, we did have the feeling that she had about won the lottery. I’m hoping that the word ‘exclusive’ in describing the camp, does not paint a picture of a higher class, or eggheads only. This is a very casual setting and the kids really know how tho have fun. |

I could use some help from any geocachers who can be available June 28th in the early afternoon to assist some of the math campers find geocaches in Rosevilles Central Park. So far The Collector has shown some interest, but I'd like to get a few more so we can split up into smaller groups and give more people time with the GPS's. The timeline hasn't been set in stone yet, but we are thinking of doing some quick training on how to use a GPS from 1-2 pm then from 2-3:30pm actual caching.
Please PM me if you can help out.
Thank you in advance. |

| I just got word that they are expecting 56 Participants for this event, and at present, I have The Collector and Grey Wolf and Wild Rice offering to help, but it would be great if we could get a few more helpers for the afternoon cache hunt, It will be difficult to do this with only 3 cachers, so anyone else that can help would be much appreciated. PLEASE, PLEASE message me if you can help! |

| I wanted to give a big thanks to The Collector, Grey Wolf and Lady Z for helping run this event yesterday. The campers had a great time and really seemed to get into it; it was a great success! |
