|
|
I had an idea at work today about having a TB race but all the racers would be Bowling Balls. I am looking in to how to get some cheap or free used bowling balls from a local bowling place. The racer would provide a fresh TB tag and a small cash amount so if I need to purcahse the balls I can. This is just in the planing stages. The balls would race for one year and the one that went the farthest would win. I would probably make a trophy for the winner or something like that. I would be creating some rules later. So what do you guys think? Yes or No?
I have 2 or 3 people interested. You would provide A new TB Tag and $5 for the trophies for the the farthest traveled and most caches visted. I will provide the balls or if you have an extra you would like to get rid of and want to donate it to my race i would love it. So what do you guys think? |

I think in all of the caches I've done you'd be able to fit a bowling ball in about 6 of them. _________________ Hmm... |

Interesting concept. But I don't think that I would be humping a 16 lb Bowling ball to anything other then a PNG cache. And I don't know many PNG caches that would hold a BB. _________________ Airborne All the Way! |

| Bowling balls aren't big and heavy enough. How about a cinderblock? |

At least something like a bowling ball wouldn't get stolen. Or I hope it wouldn't anyway. It sounds interesting. I would need to get more TB tags though. You'll have to let me know if you are going to pursue this at a later time. _________________ King of the Jeff Gordon TB's!

| I'm one of the few that would haul a 16 pound TB 2 miles out in the woods but in all honesty, I don't know of too many that would haul it back. |

bowling alleys get rid of old bowling balls periodically, when i was much younger we'd play with the discarded bowling balls behind the alley while waiting for our rides after league. I don't know a good way to find out how to get one though... if nothing else you can probably get an old bowling ball for a buck or so at a garage sale if you know someone who goes to them.
I think it's a good idea, I'd take it to a new cache.
I saw the cinder block TB thing a while back, and was looking to make one myself a few days ago, but I had no good way to attach the TB tag to the block. |

Wonder if you thought about using bowling pins. Most alleys will give their old ones away. It could also be used to beat off those 'BIG' MN mosquitoes. |
