I came across this thread on the GC.com forums, and I found myself having to jump in and defend the name of the trail and mtn-man. _________________ There comes a time in every young boy's life when he gets an irresistible urge to seek buried treasure.--Mark Twain |

It looked like a bunch of SHT to me. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

I've started a bookmark list for caches along the SHT. Please let me know what I'm missing (because I know I'm missing a lot). _________________ Hmm... |

| All the Sven and Inga caches are on the SHT as well as IBcrashen's Lions, Tigers, and Bears. Ely's Peak, Cliff Hanger, Larry's Pencil Box, and Bardons Peak also. The new ones by enger tower are on the SHT as well. Abandoned Field(?) and Multi just below Enger Tower. I also believe that IBcrashen has one down by the Fond du Lac end as well although I don't remember the name even though it was my 1000th find. |

| How close do you want them? Dark Passage is pretty much under. Mission Creek trail- on , Dark Forest of Knowlton is just off , More Colored Squares- on , Where Does this Go- on. Most of mine where there before it happened. Above Skyline was on it. Ore Dock Overlook is pretty much on. Res Walk is on. |

What I wrote on the bookmark page was this:

How far off are those that are off?
My problem, as you mentioned, is that I visited most of these caches before the trail was there. I found out the other day that the trail runs within about 2' of Point of Rocks above the M&H. Last time I was there it wasn't designated SHT at all.
I'll add the ones that are 'on' tonight as well as those from Esko's list (some of which I already had). _________________ Hmm... |

I'm not sure which ones you are referring to. I got the new Abandoned Field. I also got 3 Billy Goats Gruff. Are there others in mind?

Then that's easy as it's on your profile. Mission Creek Hiking Trail. That's on the SHT?

I added all except the Dark Forest and Ore Dock Overlook until I hear back from you to see if you think they meet the criteria.
I'm up to 25 caches so far. I'm sure that's only about 1/2 though as I'm missing a lot up the shore I think. _________________ Hmm... |

I only looked at W Duluth last night. Dark Forest ending is about 25 yards off, Ore Dock Overlook is less than that.
A GEOLOGIC GEOCACHE on, SUPERIOR TRAIL: FAULT LINE RIDGE- on. not sure both of those are still active. web site is not coming in this morning.

Those were the two caches I meant.
Dark Passage is close horizontally to the SHT but is seperated by a cliff, the very rock face that where Cliff Hanger is suspended. I guess that means that I wouldn't include it in the SHT list. |

I spotted a couple trail markers for the SHT while looking for DLH's Discoverer of America? down by the Lakewalk. If that is considered SHT, then there's a lot of caches to add to the bookmark list. I looked at www.shta.org but couldn't confirm if this is true or not. _________________ Tupperware doesn't belong in the kitchen! |

I gave the link for the trails in GPX track format to Pear Head for future determination. _________________ Sad state of affairs. |

The SHTA has completed the 40 miles Duluth section of the SHT. It officially opens on June 2th, 2007. You can find the maps for half of this section here but they do not include the section along the lakewalk.
I'm on a mailing list for the SHT and have asked if the rest of the trail map is available. |
