City of Duluth seeking volunteers to help with
trail mapping
Discover Duluth's parks and trails this winter! Join others for a few hours of hiking, mapping trails, beautiful overlooks, frozen waterfalls and exploring. No experience is necessary. The next supervised workdays have been scheduled for:
Monday, January 29, 10-1 PM Meet on Vermilion Road where the Superior Hiking Trail crosses, near Amity Creek. We will be exploring Downer Park and Upper Amity Park!
Tuesday, January 30, 9-11 AM Meet at the Twin Ponds Parking Area to explore the Enger Park Trails.
Wednesday, January 31, 1-4:30 PM Meet at the SHT parking area at intersection of Highland/Gethchell and Skyline to explore Brewer Park.
Thursday, February 1, 10-3 PM Meet at the parking/overlook area on Skyline Drive, halfway between Hwy 53/Piedmont and Haines Road to walk in Piedmont Park.
Friday, February 2, 10-3 PM Meet at Lake Superior College, in the upper (rear) parking area near the flagpole, to look for groundhogs and to explore the LSC interpretive trail along the rocky Miller Creek, as well as the upper part of Enger Park.
Interested volunteers are asked to meet city park maintenance staff at the start times listed above for each day. Volunteers should dress for the weather, bring a lunch and plenty of fluids.
