Kevin Gorg's Canterbury line

Post time: 7 p.m.
Best bet: A Royal Return (9th race).
Longshot: One Mile Limit (3rd).
Exotic: Exacta box wheel, Wonderful Heather/All (8th)

1 5 furlongs. 3-, 4- and 5-year-olds. Maidens. Claiming $10,000, Purse $8,925.

No/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt. Odds

1/Bad Sahm, Rivera, Bethke 117 2-1

1A/Victor's Big Gent, Escobar, Bethke 117 2-1

2/Wally's Pet, Goodwin, Biehler 117 8-1

3/Red Bull Moon, Eikleberry, Allred 112 5-1

4/First Moment, Garcia, Biehler 122 9-5

5/Just Josh'n, Nolan, Cole 122 10-1

7/Strum Bum, Stevens, Oliver 117 9-2

FIRST MOMENT: Overcame a slow start in last to get up for second and with a smooth journey should be able to topple these. RED BULL MOON: Speedy son of Lakeshore Road is rounding into top form for this and looks playable at a price. Dangerous. VICTOR'S BIG GENT: Part of the solid Bethke entry with keen early lick and the advantage of being drawn outside. Press then pounce trip in play.

2 7 furlongs. Turf. 3-, 4- and 5-year-olds. Maiden special weight. Purse $15,000.

No/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt. Odds

1/Maxie's Turn, Von Rosen, Hanson 122 15-1

2/Royal Boy, Morales, Ness 122 20-1

3/Cane Garden Boy, Riggs, Matthews 117 5-1

4/Smoken Rosa, Bell, Ritter 112 7-2

5/Man Of Men, Escobar, Rhone 117 12-1

6/Taper, Ocampo, Booker 117 6-1

7/Soka, Pusac, Partridge 122 20-1

8/Reengage, Nolan, Robertson 117 5-2

9/Dyna Strip, Stevens, Cameron-Liechty 122 8-1

10/Tarun, Garcia, Ness 117 10-1

REENGAGE: Purchased at the Ocala sale for a gaudy $45,000 and this youngster is bred to run all day. On top. SMOKEN ROSA: Ritter charge ships in from glitzy Arlington Park with blazing early speed and good to see Bell hop aboard. The one to beat. TARUN: Debuts for the Kissoons with Lasix and tremendous bloodlines for the sod. Works say this guy is ready. Can't toss.

3 7 furlongs. Turf. Fillies and mares. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming $7,500. Purse $10,000.

No/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt. Odds

1/Verzene, Stevens, Oliver 118 5-1

2/Bye Bye Ladies, Butler, Rhone 118 10-1

3/Games Of Chance, Nolan, Ness 122 4-1

4/Be My Friend, Riggs, Riecken 113 9-2

5/One Mile Limit, Bell, Kirby 120 5-1

6/Front Paige Gal, Escobar, Robertson 118 12-1

7/T's Fashion Find, Garcia, Booker 118 6-1

8/Hard To Call, Eikleberry, Evans 115 10-1

9/Close Clearance, Schmidt, McCartney 118 15-1

10/Megan's Cracker, Goodwin, Mello 118 10-1

ONE MILE LIMIT: Game old mare never got rolling in last but there was lots of traffic trouble. Could be a sleeper. Upset special. T'S FASHION FIND: Iowa invader has plenty of skills, and she entices our top jockey to ride in her local debut. Contender. BE MY FRIEND: Horse for the course lost by a desperate neck in her most recent out and she fires back again she will be right there with these.

4 1 mile, 70 yards. 3, 4 and 5-year-olds. Maidens. Claiming $10,000. Purse $7,000.

No/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt. Odds

1/Lone Sky, Ziegler, McFadden 116 8-1

2/Concorde Gone, Von Rosen, Gray 122 12-1

3/It's Go Time, Eikleberry, Bainum 117 5-1

4/Plate Licker, Bell, Robertson 116 3-2

5/Broadwaytylerbeau, Pusac, Shipton 116 15-1

6/Iwazascruffy Boy, Nolan, Ness 116 7-5

PLATE LICKER: Scratched from a similar spot here last week and this Chicago shipper hails from our top trainer's barn. The pick. IWAZASCRUFFY BOY: Sharp second in last and got claimed. Owns the top speed figures. Obvious player. IT'S GO TIME: Sneaky player has been off since last June but did show some talent in those Golden Gate heats.

5 1 mile. Fillies and mares. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming $5,000. Purse $7,000.

No/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt. Odds

1/Brighten My Day, Pusac, Townsend 122 10-1

2/Shadow Danceblaze, Goodwin, Warvell 122 2-1

3/Dinner At Lido's, Nolan, Score 122 5-2

4/Syn Can Do, Stevens, Scherbenske 122 12-1

5/Farrar, Eikleberry, Tracy 117 3-1

6/Kasino Dealer, Riggs, Ranwick 117 4-1

SHADOW DANCEBLAZE: Tough to get excited about a horse that is 0-for-14 at this track but she is too good for this bunch. Choice. KASINO DEALER: Turf-to-dirt while on a huge class drop for this. Second time off the bench and merits a long look. FARRAR: Never fired in the slop last time out but faces softer in here. Should offer exotic value.

6 5 furlongs. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming $7,500. Purse $8,190.

No/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt. Odds

1/Turtle Mountain, Bell, Kane 122 3-1

2/Solongcache, Pusac, Hoffrogge 122 4-1

3/Gato de Manana, Eikleberry, Oliver 117 7-2

4/Quick Hombre, Riggs, Olesiak 117 8-1

5/Sonny Blue, Nolan, Brown 117 12-1

6/Quickie O'Brien, Stevens, Allred 122 15-1

7/Bjellebo, Garcia, Biehler 117 5-1

8/Daddy Delicious, Ocampo, Biehler 122 5-1

GATO DE MANANA: Big closer would love to see a speed battle up front. In decent form and a late threat either way. BJELLEBO: Sampson home-bred has faced some toughies here this Summer but this one sets up nicely for him. Flag fall to that's all. SOLONGCACHE: Stalking speed will have this gelding right there turning for home and he may be overlooked in the wagering.

7 5 furlongs. Fillies and mares. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming $7,500. Purse $7,000.

No/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt. Odds

1/Hunch No Trump, Morales, Oliver 121 3-1

2/Neily Bop, Goodwin, Ryno 121 12-1

3/Daring Icon, Ziegler, Sutherland 121 6-1

4/R.G. Torlyn, Nolan, Campbell 121 7-2

5/Bender Girl, Ocampo, Slomkowski 116 9-2

6/Perfect Dancer, Pusac, McShane 116 10-1

7/Andwhat'syoursin, Eikleberry, Partridge 111 12-1

8/Wages, Rivera, Johnson 116 6-1

9/Queen Abadad, Escobar, Ness 121 15-1

HUNCH NO TRUMP: Has not raced since mid July but you have to love the sharp recent drills. Jock has been solid. Play. BENDER GIRL: Barn a perfect 100 percent wins off the claim and this gal finds a race loaded with speed to set her late surge up. The one to fear. R.G. TORLYN: Ran a beauty in her most recent out charging from just off to miss by a neck at 17-1 odds.

8 1 mile, 70 yards. Fillies and mares. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming $5,00. Purse $8,000.

No/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt. Odds

1/Jami Pari, Pusac, McFadden 122 15-1

2/Miss Imagination, Rivera, Van Winkle 122 6-1

3/Wonderful Heather, Morales, Evans 118 9-2

4/Snow Devil, Nolan, Cook 120 8-1

5/Personal Notebook, Garcia, Cook 120 6-1

6/Natalies Commander, Goodwin, Booker 118 15-1

7/Melody Ruth, Ocampo, Bethke 118 8-1

8/Tatiana, Schmidt, McCartney 120 10-1

9/Kami Dee, Stevens, Oliver 118 5-1

10/Dancing Rachael, Escobar, Robertson 120 4-1

WONDERFUL HEATHER: Sharp sprint score in last drawing away impressively. Handles the extra ground and loves this oval. KAMI DEE: Drops down the class ladder while moving from turf to dirt. Should make some late noise. DANCING RACHEL: Have to respect this daughter of Plana Dance but she draws the far outside post with other speedballs inside. Tricky read.

9 Great Lakes Stakes. Quarter horses. 440 yards. 3-year-olds and up. Purse $27,500.

No/Horse, Jockey, Trainer Wt. Odds

1/Als Bright Idea, Warhol, Winget 124 12-1

2/Henos Hespecial, Muntz, Moses 124 10-1

3/This Is The Key, Luark, Smith 124 20-1

4/Mr Special Colors, Olmstead, Blair 126 12-1

5/Runaway Gold, Ocampo, Hardy 126 9-2

6/Pistol Packin Perry, Pusac, Pixley 126 15-1

7/CCs Chico, Schmidt, McCartney 124 6-1

8/Hot Hoofs N Traffic, Eikleberry, Blair 126 8-1

9/First Smart Muggins, Goodwin, Hardy 126 3-1

10/A Royal Return, Vanek, Sharp 124 4-1

A ROYAL RETURN: Enters off a good looking second in last while facing Grade 3 foes. Love the outside post draw. FIRST SMART MUGGINS: Von Ohlen home-bred loves this strip and enters fresh off an extremely fast score. The one they gotta beat. HENOS HESPECIAL: Had a horrible trip in last and never fired but he is plenty scary when right. Don't discount at a juicy price.

If it starts to storm out pretty bad like they are predicting, I might back out.

What happens when it rains? Do they run in the rain or postpone? The girls and I were planning to go, but at the moment it's looking iffy.

I just called and it is rain or shine unless there is thunder or lightning. Then they'll wait until it stops.

Sept 4th is the last day of the season. I wish we had planned this earlier.
