Did anyone else get the GC.com Survey? I got one yesterday that asked general Questions about my geocaching. Things like: How many times I go out, Which type I prefer to find, what size i prefer to find, if I've hid any myself, etc, etc. The last question on the bottom was one that asked if I had any concerns about GC.com in general. I mentioned that there seems to be certian day of the week that it is hard to navigate the site due to too many user on. _________________ King of the Jeff Gordon TB's!

Yes I got it and filed it out. Vagly, (sp) I don't tell income to anyone but the IRS, didn't tell make of GPS prefered, as I only use one, how do I know if it's the best. Etc. Didn't think of them using it to show advertisers until it was pointed out later.

I'm just wondering what the concern over using it for advertisers is? Wouldn't that mean they make more money and can keep the servers moving on the slow days? I'm just wondering...as long as there really isn't anything personally identifiable that they can sell to an advertiser for spam, I'm not seeing too much of a problem...I'm paranoid only to a point, and that point is if I can see the method behind the madness
But I do have to say I haven't taken the survey yet, so I may change my opinion after I see the questions

<edit> just finished the survey, opinion didn't change...odd, must be a first </edit> |

eh, I took the survey anyway (it's my one chance to officially complain about the website slowness, even if that's not what TPTB are interested in learning).
As for the personal information, I usually skip it if I can. |

Actually, I just found the forum on GC.com discussing the survey and it's got some commentary from Jeremy discussing the reason for the survey and that it's not about advertising. With some of the questions, I'm hesitant to agree completely, but the last questions are pretty general to all types of surveys, they want to get a basic understanding of the user base.

| I took the survey, and the only question I wasn't sure about was the personal finances question, and that had an "I don't want to answer" option. |

I received the survey but haven't filled it out yet. If it helps them do a better job, then I'm all for it, but as with all survey's I will skip questions I don't feel is any of thier buisness. _________________ Onions the real man's Vegetable |
