Hi all,
I'd like to compile a list of geocaches that we can ski to (if we ever get the snow for it). Once we get a good list together I'll put it up on the website. Please help me by posting any caches you know that are off groomed ski trails or other suitable locations. Please indicate how far away from the trail they are. Don't be TOO specific, don't want to give it away. Maybe just list a ballpark like 1-10 ft, 10-20 ft, 20-50 ft, 50-100 ft, ect. Thanks!
The ones I know of are:
Birdsong, Battle Creek Mk II, Doggie Delight, and Gorgeous.

Woodland Trails in Elk River is a really good skiing one. Well groomed trails and should be uneffected by the snow. My Padre thinks this one is the second cache put out in the state. It would be a good candidate for 'Cache of the month' in one of the snowier months! _________________ "I bet you can't tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel." - Sean to Will, Good Will Hunting |

| There is a trail that goes very near one of my caches in Bunker Hills ... the one on the hill that used to be "There's the Lake" |

Lots of XC ski trails in Lake Minnewashta Regional Park. My son helped place the cache after remembering a neat area he saw while skiing there.
<whispering> and the Loon Lake cache in Savana Portage State Park is near a nice trail. Cache was still in place in November.

Since I was a cross country skier before I became a cacher, both of my caches are placed just off the trail of groomed ski trails. Check out Big Ridge Surprise and C-L-C. By the way I was out skiing today and we just have enough snow to use your rock skis. |
