A bit, but I'm trying to make the team event special and encourage friendly competition. That and I am hoping to give MOGA event planners a reason to do it every year. |

Since I don't participate in this and I'm chipping in, feel free to ignore me and I'll blame Kitch, but....
Shouldn't it say Donated by MNGCA. Or presented by MNGCA. Or it should be the MNGCA cup for the MOGC team event. Something along these lines. _________________ Save the earth.

IMO this is not an MnGCA thing at all. . .it is done by individuals who happen to be members of the MnGCA. We are not using MnGCA money in any way. |

I can live with that. Seems reasonable. _________________ Save the earth.

The Lakers game was all about advertising the MnGCA and building up a userbase online. (my little conspiracy)
The Minnesota Cup is all about making MOGA cooler. Not stamping MOGA with MnGCA.

Looking back at posts on the thread I see two requests that might be merged into one:
--Have Minnesota Cup somewhere on it so folks remember what to call it and who donated it. (the suggestions was more along the lines of "Donated by the MnGCA", but I have addressed my wanting to avoid "MnGCA" specifically)
--Have some text on the cup itself.
What if we put "Minnesota Cup" on the cup itself?
My concerns with engraving the cup are that what if it came out looking bad? I will call and find out more about how they do this and what it looks like. I too would like to do this and the additional cost could be offset by choosing a 8-9" cup rather than the "Big Ten Inch". |

| You would think that they have engraved a cup before. If they do a bad job could you not except it and tell them it looks like a brown gooy substance. Do you get to see it before you pay for it? Or if they have any examples of work they have done. Pics or a display of some sort. If they botch something up or you don't like what they did you should not have to accept it! They should give you a quality cup. In your eyes, Not theirs! |

I believe that all funds that are donated to the Minnesota Cup should be used for the trophy itself, and not for gas going down there. If there is any remaining contributions left that is not used for the trophy, it should be turned over to the MNGCA treasury and put in a special fund earmarked as the Minnesota Cup Trophy fund. _________________ Remember One does not need the MNGCA to geocache, but the MNGCA does need members to survive. |

| All the cash donated for the cup is comeing from those that are going. Earlier postings state this is not a MNGCA thing. Just a bunch of us from Mn. going down there. Thats why it's the Minnesota Cup Not the MNGCA Cup. No one has asked for any money from anybody else. I see no problem with any left over money to go twords the trip. |

I agree with the cookie monster. It's their money, their cup and their trip.
The only part of mngca is the team name, and I am proud that such a good crew represent us. _________________ Save the earth.
