Here's one for the "old-timers". Yes, there was a time when it was legal to geocache in our wonderful state park system. For those geocaching in the summer of 2002 and before, what was your favorite geocache in a Minnesota State Park? Please list the cache and the state park.
Mine was HELLS GATE by KO_DAT_VEY. Great hike along the boulder-strewn canyon of the Kettle River in Banning State Park.
It was my 5th geocache and only one of only 5 or so that I was able to find in a MN state park prior to the ban. I've since found caches in 6 other state park systems and each time I am filled with regret that we can't cache in some of the best areas in my home state. |

As a "new-comer" I've never been able to legally hunt caches in MN state parks. However, I have found at least one but I won't name it since it is still active! _________________ "Hi, I'm Moe, or as the women know me - Hey! You in the bushes."

I'll second towlebooth's pick of HELLS GATE--I especially liked walking through the old quarry in the area on the way to the cache. _________________ There comes a time in every young boy's life when he gets an irresistible urge to seek buried treasure.--Mark Twain |

Alright - so that thread didn't go too far.
Here's a question for all of you. I submitted a photo for the calendar from a legal, pre-ban geocache expedition into a MN State Park. Can you guess which photo that is? |

My quick guess based on looking at the pictures once and not voting yet would be the pic of Shovel Point in Tettegouche.
But that's just a guess
