Are caches allowed at or near Public Water Accesses maintained by the MN DNR? From what I read and understand, no, but then there is the one near a landing on Island Lake. Could someone clarify this for me?

As far as I know, the answer is no- at least that is the answer I got when I contacted the DNR last year about placing a cache at a DNR landing-

I would contact the cache owner of the cache you are speaking about and see what he/she says. You say the cache is "near" a landing. Sometimes those DNR landings are squeezed in-between private property pretty tightly. In some cases the DNR property right is just the width of the ramp and dock with little space for parking.

Are you sure it is a DNR landing? Some of the landings at Island Lake are MN Power, such as the Hideaway.

I am almost certain. I looked up the area on two different web sites and tried to look up the actual lake on the St Louis County tax web site, but didn't find anything there. It will saw MNP or something I have seen. I will call the DNR and post what they tell me. I don't know for sure about the landing on Island Lake, I assumed it was DNR because all the signage is the same as other DNR landings.

I know two of the landings on Island Lake are MN Power. The one at the SW end near the dam (near where I have a cache), and the hideaway on the NE side. I'm not sure on the Abbot road one - there is already a cache there I think.
