Hi eagleyes,
Buxely's uses the same info - I believe that he pulls directly from geocaching.com's database (or at least from their site if he has not been given access to the database). I've never seen it as a competition at all, just a different way of organizing. I really like to use Buxley's Map of MN Caches as a starting point for a geocaching journey. In the past year Buxley's has added more detailed maps too. See their Ely Area Map for an example.
The vast majority of the caches listed on Buxley's are from geocaching.com. The few that are not are from navicache.com. I guess you could say it is a case of geocaching.com vs. navicache.com, not buxely's.
I only do geocaching.com caches. When I started they had a lot more and had a better site. Both are still true. Now geocaching.com and A LOT more than navicache.
I'm sure the two sites (geocaching.com & navicache.com) have some sort of history together or vs one another but I don't know it. |
