Ok, here's the avatar setting I have :

Quote:
Avatar Settings
Enable gallery avatars Yes No
Enable remote avatars
Avatars linked to from another website Yes No
Enable avatar uploading Yes No
Maximum Avatar File Size
For uploaded avatar files Bytes
Maximum Avatar Dimensions
(Height x Width in pixels) x
Avatar Storage Path
Path under your phpBB root dir, e.g. images/avatars
Avatar Gallery Path
Path under your phpBB root dir for pre-loaded images, e.g. images/avatars/gallery

So - if I have it all turned on, and set properly, and I upload my avatar, then why does it not show? Any where did it go? And how can I get users avatars to show? This is so frustrating!!!

No - your confused... I'm not referring to my avatar on the MnGCA Forums, but rather the avatar settings on the SP forums. We MnGCA members do not have the ability to adjust avatar settings, only load and delete avatars. I'm looking for help with actual administration and management of avatars on a whole nother forum :

http://forums.swissperpetual.com

Thanks though for the response.

Anyone else???

you need to set the proper permissions for the avatar directory (the avatars upload to your base forum directory /images/avatars if your forum doesn't have this directory, it needs to be created). Chmod 777 for this directory and it should work.

Ok - I'm not sure I fully understand this. I think I have the directory/images/avatars area created. If not - how would I go about creating it? And what is Chmod 777??? This is unfamiliar to me. I don't know much about this sort of thing, but just seem to get things running somehow. In this case - it never ran.

Thanks alot - I just need some clarifications!

You would need access to the filesystem in order to create the directories (either through some web interface of your hosting company, SSH/telnet, or FTP).

chmod 777 changes the permissions to "read/write/excute for all". You can do that via the same channels above.

Ok - thanks. I'll give it a try and see what I can come up with.

If I have no luck, I'll call my guru in St. Cloud! Wink

If that doesn't work, maybe you can recalibrate the field harmonics in the data sensor array to minimize the tachion emissions before the warp field collapses.

To get this forum up and running I had to jiggle the flux capacitor.

No wonder KB's TMZ settings were off. When you jiggled the flux capacitor we skipped over this hour to arrive exactly at this moment in time!
