Are they legal for caches or not?

According to their regulations, see here, it is only prohibited in "State Parks". It says nothing about other DNR land such as WMAs. I don't know if that was intentional or not.

Take what I said as no indication of its acceptability or not. I am not a DNR representative.

I have heard of no problems with WMA areas either. Just make sure you tell cachers to wear "don't shoot me" orange during hunting seasons on your cache page.

The other statewide land management areas that I know of that have restrictions are the various National Wildlife Refuge areas. The web site has changed and is still wrong on most web sites. They now spell out "minnesota".
